Running a trust or charity has become increasingly complex. A trust transfer or resettlement could be a simple, powerful and practical solution.
Transferring your trust to Taranaki Foundation ensures its purpose continues while we manage the compliance, investment, and grantmaking – freeing you from the legal and financial burdens of running a trust.
Once transferred, your trust becomes a Named Fund, allowing your gift to grow, generate a reliable income stream, and continue making a difference for generations to come.
In September 2024, management of the Noel Yarrow Puke Ariki Trust funds was transferred to Taranaki Foundation.
Established in 2011, the Trust was created to honour the memory of Noel Yarrow and the Fund will continue to support Puke Ariki projects that enrich the region’s cultural and historical landscape.
In 2015, The Winifred Knight Trust became Taranaki Foundation’s first Named Fund in 2015, continuing Winifred’s lifelong commitment to education and community in South Taranaki.
Throughout her life, Winifred was a teacher, headmistress, and active supporter of local organisations including the Girl Guides, Hāwera Women’s Club, and Red Cross. She received a Queen’s Service Medal in 1979 for her dedication to the community and once commented that she was “just one of many people interested in helping the community.”
In 2022, The Friends of the New Plymouth Opera House established a Named Fund with Taranaki Foundation.
The Trust, originally set up in 2007 to support local recreation and cultural activities at TSB Showplace, TSB Stadium and Bowl of Brooklands for the benefit of the Taranaki community. The trustees resettled the Trust to ensure the Fund’s income continues to benefit the community for generations to come.
"“Our role is to encourage and facilitate cost-effective and efficient philanthropic giving, to make that process easy and to ensure that the gifts given today have enduring benefit for Taranaki, for generations to come.”"Ken Horner - Patron, Taranaki Foundation
