Who we are

Taranaki is a special place. Around our maunga an energy exists – driving passionate people across our region to get things done, to improve lives, and create an ever-better Taranaki for the generations to come.

Taranaki Foundation is a charitable community foundation created for the people of Taranaki, by the people of Taranaki. Our vision is to nurture and grow the prosperity of our region through community giving partnerships and philanthropy.

We’re part of a national network of 18 community foundations across Aotearoa New Zealand that provide a unique way of charitable giving. We connect generous donors with projects and causes they are passionate about to support long-term community transformation.

Our Foundation has grown rapidly in recent years. Now, as we continue to scale our impact and deliver on our mission, we’re looking for two new part-time members to join our small but mighty team of four.

Join the Taranaki Foundation team

We’re on a mission to strengthen our region, and that starts with growing our motivated, values-led team. We’re currently recruiting for two new roles: EA & Team Operations and Grants Coordinator.

We’re looking for team members who understand and believe in what we do and want to be part of something meaningful.

Both part-time roles are ideal for candidates with strong enthusiasm, excellent time management, people skills, and a desire to work for an organisation that’s making a visible difference in our community.

Working as part of our team

We are lucky to have a small purpose-driven team who care deeply about our community and are committed to positive social change and improving the lives of people in it.
Here’s what you can expect:

  • Purpose-Driven Work: Every task drives positive impact across Taranaki.
  • Small & Supportive Team: Expect genuine collaboration and autonomy.
  • Hybrid Flexibility: Work from home and our central New Plymouth office.
  • Grow with Us: Help build the foundation for philanthropy and social impact locally.

EA & Team Operations
Part-time | 20 hours per week

Do you thrive in high-trust roles, love being the backbone of a dynamic team, and enjoy keeping things running smoothly?

Our Executive Assistant & Team Operations role is a multi-faceted position. You’ll support the CE and coordinate team operations. As the key driver of day-to-day momentum, this role ensures our people, policies, and priorities stay on track.

This is a high-trust, high-autonomy position suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, values-driven environment and enjoys making great things happen.

Ideal candidates are proactive, organised, adaptable, and excited to bring both personality and professionalism to a values-driven organisation.

Grants Coordinator
Part-time | 15 hours per week

Are you a detail-driven organiser who loves helping communities thrive?

Working closely with the Funding & Relationships Manager and wider team, this role plays a key part in administering endowment and pass-through distributions, communicating with grantees, and ensuring donor intent is respected.
