We are pleased to introduce Wainui Bedford, Helen Jones, Marcia Millard and Riley McGregor and welcome them to the Taranaki Foundation Distribution Committee.

Our Distribution Committee maintains an essential link with the community, providing the necessary insight and leadership to make sure all Taranaki Foundation grants are made in the best interests of our donors and our province.

Distribution Committee Chair Mark Bowden says: “We are delighted to have these new members on our committee. Each comes with valuable experience and expertise and a true passion for our community. We are honoured to have them join us and thank them for their service and efforts to contribute to our work here at the foundation.”

Wainui Bedford

Wainui spent 10 years in Wellington working at the Todd Foundation under the leadership of Sir John Todd and Kate Frykberg where she was the administrator and then the Youth Development Coordinator.

Since returning from Wellington she has worked on contract with North Taranaki SPCA, as the General Manager at Netball Taranaki and as the Office Manager Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Mutunga. Currently she is an Executive Assistant at Dialog Fitzroy Limited. She is also a current Trustee for Otaraua Hapū Marae.

Helen Jones

Helen has a broad knowledge of community groups and their needs having been involved in a number of community organisations over the years, including Toko Playcentre, Toko Junior Rugby Club, Eastern Districts netball and Taranaki Playcentre. She was also the Central Taranaki Provincial Treasurer for Rural Women and served on the Scotlands Te Kitiroa Trust as a Trustee and is currently a JP.

She is currently the Financial Manager at Maryann Resthome in Stratford.

Marcia Millard

Marcia has worked within community development for over 25 years both here in Taranaki, and her former home county of Yorkshire in the UK.  She is currently the Manager of The Wheelhouse whose purpose is to develop strong sustainable community organisations through improved governance and leadership.  Prior to this she worked in South Taranaki as a Community Development Advisor.

She was previously Chair of the Board at Tutaki Youth Inc in Stratford and a committee member on the Stratford Business Association.  She is currently an elected member of the COGS South Taranaki Local Distribution Committee, committee member of the Tarata Community Hall and a volunteer with the Stratford Community Patrol.

Riley McGregor

Riley comes from an education background where he was previously a primary school teacher. He is currently a Regional Injury Prevention Partner with ACC. Riley is Chairperson of Kindergarten Taranaki and Treasurer of Kidsafe Taranaki.

Riley is committed to positively influencing our rangatahi and preparing them adequately for the future. To supporting the next generation in being strong, resilient, tolerant, forward-thinking members of society.
