Conductive Education Taranaki works with Taranaki children with disabilities. Conductive Education is a unique fusion of special education and physical intervention that empowers the whole family and support system around a child with motor disabilities proving the opportunity for each child to maximise their abilities. It is unique because it is holistic, intensive, dynamic and inclusive. The children not only experience dramatic improvements in physical abilities, but they also grow in confidence and independence.
The Taranaki Conductive Education centre opened in 2017 at Westown Primary School where children attend weekly sessions. Children with disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida and movement related concerns plus children with developmental delays and stroke survivors are all supported. We know from experience that regular, intensive intervention works. The classroom sessions are based on the work of Hungarian Professor András Pető, who specifically developed this program for people who have motor disorders.

Club R & R, Awesome Camp for Awesome Kids
Children with disabilities are often unable to attend holiday programmes or the fun camps their siblings and peers experience. Club R&R is a holiday camp that changes all that.
The vision for the camp came from one of our Taranaki Foundation generous donors, Nancy Mills, who has a passion for helping children. Supported by Conductive Education, the concept of Club R&R is to provide a safe, healthy and appropriate camp for children with disabilities. The first ever week-long Club R&R in Taranaki was delivered in January 2019. Your donation or bequest to Club R&R will ensure this holiday camp will be available for many children with disabilities every year, forever.
