Hannah Middleton

Trustee

Hannah Middleton was born and raised in South Taranaki on a dairy farm, where she grew up with her parents and two brothers. After spending her early years in the region, she left to pursue further education and wider life experience before returning home to Taranaki.

Drawn back by a strong connection to the region and Taranaki Maunga, Hannah now lives on a dairy farm in Waverley, South Taranaki, with her husband and three young children.

Hannah currently works in Senior Management and Projects at Bartley Group Holdings. She has held a range of leadership roles across regional development, youth, and sport, including as CEO of Whanganui & Partners, Strategic Lead Education & Youth at Whanganui & Partners, and Youth Development Lead at Sport Taranaki.

Her governance experience includes serving as a Trustee of Sport Whanganui (2023–present), Chair of the Whanganui District Employment Training Trust (2019–2026), member of the Regional Skills Leadership Group (2020–2022), Board Member of Economic Development New Zealand (2022–2023), and Trustee of Netball Taranaki (2017–2019). She has also contributed extensively to netball as a player, coach, and volunteer across both Netball Taranaki and Netball Whanganui.

As a trustee of the Taranaki Foundation, Hannah says:
“I am looking forward to listening to our community, raising the bar and ensuring that our region, and in particular the smaller districts that make up our region, have equitable and equal opportunities to thrive. I am passionate about using my strengths and connections to continue building Taranaki’s prosperity, especially for the next generation. I also hope to bring community voice and knowledge, specifically from South Taranaki, to ensure the district has opportunity to build on its strengths and create equal opportunities for our people and place.”
