In October 2021 the Help a Taranaki Child Trust Fund was transferred to Taranaki Foundation. The trustees made the decision to wind up the Trust and transfer the proceeds to the Taranaki Foundation, which will administer the funds as per the trust wishes going forward, and see the funds safeguarded in perpetuity.
The Help a Taranaki Child Trust (Hatch Trust) was established in December 2004 by a small group of Taranaki business people. They were anxious to help less advantaged children living in Taranaki, who have a tangible dream and desire and talent/skills to progress forward in their chosen field of study/career.
The stated purpose of the Trust was to “promote health and education of Taranaki children by enabling access to health facilities, amateur sporting facilities, educational facilities and cultural facilities”.
Taranaki Foundation will continue the original trust vision and purposes through the Help a Taranaki Child Trust Fund.
